RN Ascend exists for one reason: nursing students deserve study materials and tools built by people who actually teach nursing, not by marketers, not by AI, and not by someone who hasn't worked a hospital floor in twenty years.
Every flashcard, every page in our Survival Guide, every question in our NCLEX Mastery program is designed by a working clinical instructor with bedside experience. That's the entire promise of the brand.
To help young people Think Like a Nurse.
Nursing school can teach facts. Passing the NCLEX takes more than facts. The difference between a student who memorizes and a nurse who reasons through a deteriorating patient is clinical thinking, and clinical thinking only develops when you learn from people who've done the work. Everything we build is engineered to develop that thinking, not just to push information into your head.
Before RN Ascend, our founder Chelsey Rodgers built Tribe RN, a nursing education products company that sold hundreds of thousands of clinical tools to nursing students and working nurses across the country. The catalog spanned nursing clipboards, clinical badge cards, pocket reference cards, and study supports, all designed around what working nurses actually carry into shifts and what students actually need when the textbook isn't enough.
Tribe RN proved something important about this market: nursing students will pay for tools that solve real clinical problems, when those tools are designed by clinicians who understand the problem. It also proved Chelsey's instincts. The same product categories that grew Tribe RN, the badge cards, the pocket cards, are foundational to RN Ascend today.
After years in pediatric and neonatal critical care, time spent as a working clinical instructor at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, and watching pre-nursing students struggle with the same questions about whether nursing was right for them and which specialty fit, Chelsey saw the bigger opportunity. Nursing students need more than a single product line. They need a complete ecosystem: physical study tools they can carry into clinical rotations, digital tools they can use anywhere, and honest career guidance for the moment before nursing school even begins.
RN Ascend is that ecosystem.
The nursing education space is flooded right now with content produced by AI tools, marketing teams, and people whose last clinical shift was a decade ago. Most of it looks polished. Some of it is even technically accurate. None of it captures what actually matters: the way a nurse thinks through a patient assessment, the small details that show up on NCLEX questions because they show up in real practice, the difference between textbook pharmacology and pharmacology you'll use in your first job.
Clinical instructors are the bridge between textbook nursing and real nursing. They see what trips students up, where the curriculum has gaps, what new graduates wish they'd known sooner. RN Ascend is built on that perspective, not on what an algorithm thinks nursing students want.
Chief Clinical Officer and Founder

Chelsey is a registered nurse with over 20 years of experience and a pediatric clinical instructor at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
She earned her BSN from the University of New Mexico in 2005 and built her career in pediatric and neonatal critical care, including more than a decade at the bedside in pediatric ICUs at UNM Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital, Seattle Children's, Denver Children's, Swedish Medical Center, and through travel nursing assignments across the country. She holds active RN licenses in four states: Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Washington.
In 2019, she founded Tribe RN and grew it into a leading nursing education products brand, selling hundreds of thousands of clinical tools to students and nurses nationwide. In 2022, she joined Chandler-Gilbert Community College as a pediatric clinical instructor, where she continues to teach hands-on patient care to the next generation of nurses.
Every piece of clinical content RN Ascend produces passes through Chelsey. That's the quality bar, and it's non-negotiable.
RN Ascend is built by a small group of clinicians, educators, and designers who share Chelsey's belief that nursing education deserves better tools. Our design team brings years of experience producing study materials that nurses actually want to carry. Our educators contribute clinical perspective across specialties from med-surg to pharmacology to pediatrics. Every product and every piece of content moves through the team for clinical accuracy review before it reaches a student.
RN Ascend builds three categories of tools, each designed for a specific stage of the nursing journey.
Physical study tools for nursing students in the trenches: clinical reference cards, pharmacology flashcards, our med-surg, A&P, and microbiology flashcard sets, and the Nursing School Survival Guide. Built for the clipboard, the scrub pocket, and the late-night study session.
Digital tools through the RN Ascend Student App: NCLEX Mastery program with adaptive question banks, every flashcard set in interactive digital form, and Clio, our AI study assistant trained on clinical content reviewed by our team. Offline-capable so it works during clinicals, between shifts, and anywhere reception fails.
Career guidance for students considering nursing as a career or weighing specialty paths, including our Nursing Readiness Quiz and our Pre-Nursing Pulse data publication. Built to help young people choose the path that fits them before they invest years and tens of thousands of dollars into a program.
Our work has expanded beyond individual students. We now partner directly with nursing schools to help them connect with motivated, well-matched applicants through our lead-generation programs, and we're building the kind of clinical-authority brand the nursing education space has been missing for years.
Every product, every page, every piece of content keeps coming back to the same question: does this help someone Think Like a Nurse? If the answer is yes, we ship it. If not, we don't.
Every clinical piece is created or reviewed by Chelsey Rodgers, BSN, RN, a pediatric clinical instructor at Chandler-Gilbert Community College with over 20 years of nursing experience.
RN Ascend is an independent education company. We partner with nursing schools through our lead-generation programs, but we're not affiliated with any specific institution or curriculum.
Every piece of our content is designed by a working clinical instructor with active bedside and teaching experience, not by content teams or AI. That clinical authority shows up in everything from how our flashcards are structured to how our practice questions are written.
We're starting to. If you represent a nursing program interested in bulk content licensing or our lead generation programs, please reach out via our contact page.
