Getting started
How do I download the app?
The RN Ascend Student App is launching on the App Store and Google Play. Sign up for our newsletter and we will tell you the day it ships.
Do I need an account?
Yes. An account keeps your study progress, mastery data, and unlocked sets in sync across devices. Create one the first time you open the app.
How much does the app cost?
The app is free to download, with free practice questions and sample decks included. NCLEX Mastery and digital flashcard decks are purchased inside the app, and codes from physical flashcard sets unlock their matching digital decks at no extra cost.
NCLEX Mastery
What do I get with NCLEX Mastery?
Unlimited access to the adaptive question bank and Clio, our AI study assistant, for the length of your access period: 30, 60, or 90 days. Details are on the app page.
Which access period should I choose?
Match it to your exam date. 30 days for the final push, 60 days for a steady prep window, 90 days for a comprehensive review from the start.
Does my access auto-renew?
No. NCLEX Mastery is a fixed access period, not a subscription. When it ends, it ends, so there is nothing to cancel. You can purchase a new period anytime, before or after your current one runs out.
Codes and digital decks
Which products include an unlock code?
Physical flashcard sets (Pharmacology, Med-Surg, A&P, Microbiology) include a code that unlocks the matching digital deck in the app, free. Badge cards and pocket cards do not include a deck code; they include free access to the RN Ascend Clinical Calculator through the QR code in the box.
How do I redeem my code?
Open the app, go to Settings, tap Redeem Code, and enter the code from your flashcard set insert. Full steps are on the Redeem Your Code page.
My code is not working. What do I do?
Check the letter O against the number 0 and retype it. If it still fails, email hello@rnascend.com with a photo of the insert and your order number, and we will unlock the set for you within one business day.
The Clinical Calculator
How do I get the Clinical Calculator?
Scan the QR code in your badge card or pocket card box. No code entry and no purchase required.
Account and technical
Does the app work offline?
Yes. The app is built offline-first, because clinicals do not always have signal. Your progress syncs the next time you are online.
How do I reset my password?
Use the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in screen. Still locked out? Contact us and we will recover the account.
